Pro-active treatment for injury and prevention

About me

I am a UK qualified Osteopath and myofascial acupuncturist with over 25 years experience working in London and Lanzarote.

I trained at the British School of Osteopathy in London, completing my Osteopathic studies in 1994. I have a foundation qualification in myofascial acupuncture from the CPDA endorsed by the University of Hertfordshire from 2012. I am also a certified level 1 Foundation Training instructor and a Level 1 RockDoc certified myofascial movement taping specialist.

I am a member of the General Osteopathic Council (GOC) and Osteopathic Sports Care Association (OSCA) and Surfing Medicine International (SMI).

Living and working in Famara and Soo I also work with many surfers, Kite surfers and windsurfers and foilers. Again from beginner to competition level athletes. I work alongside Pentagon Surf Training at the Recovery Room in Soo.

I have a special interest in the treatment of sports injuries. I treat many Triathletes, particularly Iron distance here on Lanzarote from amateur to professional level.

My latest passion is for Foundation Training. It is an amazing exercise program that has helped me through some injuries and I now feel stronger and more supple than I ever have! Being able to teach and share this training is a great opportunity.

I am also an enthusiastic if ungifted surfer myself....

History and experience

Before arriving in Lanzarote, I had worked for 20 years in London, the last 12 years as one of only three Osteopaths directly employed by BUPA as part of their multidisciplinary musculoskeletal teams working alongside leading physiotherapists and sports physicians. I have lectured and taught Osteopathic technique courses to BUPA therapists across the UK as well as giving talks to the general population and consulting for BUPA to formulate treatment protocols for Osteopaths throughout the Britain.

I have a great deal of experience dealing with work related postural back pain having worked onsite at Goldman Sachs, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch in London and from working in the City since 1995.

Since 2014, I have been living and working in Lanzarote to further my interest in treating amateur to professional level athletes and surfers on the island. I now work from home in Famara, Tías and in The Recovery Room in Soo.
